Online lifecast deathmatch: BlogTV vs. Stickam!

versus.

"Two websites enter...one website leaves."

When youtube was created a few years ago people needed a place to go to stream their faces live in order to stroke their growing egos. Aside from being the number one destination for sex offenders to get their jollies from jailbait teens, Stickam was the de facto place for youtubers to hang out.

Over the years there have been many nights wasted there. I treat stickam as a virtual watering hole (with my own beer of course) when I am unable to get to a REAL bar. I've made friends, enemies and acquaintances there.

Unfortunately due to the many problems such dudes jerking it on cam, 4channers being annoying by blasting a loud organismic negro, and just being plain unstable. Many youtube stars or people with a high level of unwarranted self importance have chose to go to blogtv.com

Now according to the some insider sources, BlogTV has actually PAID some of them to ditch stickam and head over there. Compared to stickam, blogtv doesn't have video chat with a window of the host and up to 6 cam slots. The focus on blogtv is on the host and sometimes a "co-host". Instead of a stickam room, blogtv has "shows".

For example you can see UberPopularYouTuber at 8pm on Wednesday. Stickam has the ability to do shows, but its not really used by youtubers. Only the scenester fucks who infested stickam use it.

Here is a comparison.

Stickam's pros
  • Has 6-7 slots for cams. The best reason to use stickam.
  • Has a easier interface to add friends. Almost like the internet landfill myspace.
  • Robust tools to ban fools
Stickam's cons
Blog Tv's Pros
  • More Stable
  • Streaming is higher quality
Blog Tv's Cons
When you weigh the pros and cons, clearly for me Stickam still is on top for now. Unfortunately, it looks like everyone and their mother is choosing blogtv over stickam and that sucks. Unless blogtv has a stickam-like feature that will have more than one or two people on cam, I really can't see myself using the site on a regular basis.

I'll tell you one thing though, BOTH sites are time wasters to the extreme.

I'm on both.

Youtube Partnership...more like PARTNERSHIT

My name is Justin and I have been rejected by the YouTube partnership program THREE TIMES in 2 months!

Call me bitter or plain jealous, but its clearly evident that someone at YouTube doesn't like me or my videos. Now it'll fully admit I never really expected to get it anyway. But I really wonder is it even worth it to get it?

I know for certain that you tube partners get the following:
*A banner on their videos and profiles
*Auto play on their video
*The chance to make a pitiful amount of money that won't even fill up your SUV or
pay your cable bill

I know for a fact only a select few people have actually quit their day jobs to produce sub-par videos made only for the masses. One scumbag in particular uses thumbnails of girls cleavage to cheat at almost every opportunity.. Another girl who thinks she's Japanese, just stares at her camera to appeal to pedophiles.

Right now I'm happy with the 500 subs I have. I'd rather have quality and not a mass of dummies subscribing to me. Now don't get me wrong there are partners out there that are awesome and I continue to watch their videos, but really a majority of youtube partners are chosen for sex appeal, bad comedy or just churn out content for the Lowest Common Demoninator.

When I quit YouTube the first time I figured no one wanted to see anything that is of actual value and intelligence. That is still the case and I accept that, but fortunately my subscribers are awesome and I watch people who are similarly minded.

That said, i'm pretty glad that I'm not a partner. I'd rather not degrade or dumb down my videos for simpletons. Having a banner would be great, but not at the cost of my integrity.

I'll stick to my day job and try to work my dream to make money writing.

Veska Toskla: EPIC FAIL

Toskla is the EFG of NHL goalies.

Even after he let in this goal, THE LEAFS STILL FUCKING WON.

(Thank god, as I ranger fan it is my duty to hate the Fishsticks)

Wow! Regarding my Rant.

I just feel so overwhelmed and humbled by the mostly positive feedback I've gotten on my Rant on youtube celebs.

the video in question

my clarification

My subs are steadily rising and I finally feel that its worth it to participate in the Youtube community after leaving for a while.

Some people have misinterpreted my rant as hate. It is not hate. I'm just offering valid criticism. I don't like those people's vids and they should cease uploading them on YouTube.

That is all. I have nothing personally against these vloggers. I do not know them in real life, so I can't really judge them as people.

But I can judge them for their video making and how their influence may effect newer youtubers. They may assume its OK to upload a video with a breast thumbnail or charge for collabs like SxePhil "allegedly" did. They may think its cute to do almost nothing on cam like Magibon or XgogobeanX. They may think its acceptable to bash religion like the TAA. If we give people like Blunty or Boh3m3 popularity we are saying that E-begging is ok.

Now doing this rant took me a very long time to even consider doing. Once upon a time I was actually concerned with what people said about me on youtube. I think Roger's (The boring dispatcher) passing fully reminded me that you should be vocal and not worry about what people say or think about you. Its only the internet for crying out loud. I should lose sleep over negative comments, bad ratings or other crap?

I think the older I get the less I give a shit about things like that. When you put things in perspective, does it really matter? There are things out there that are much worse.

On that note, I have to get the fuck to bed. If I get more subs, I'm going to have to hire a secretary or intern. :)
